Proposals

The EBPS plans to develop an exciting scientific program for the 2021 Biennial Meeting on recent advances in behavioural pharmacology and related disciplines. The conference symposia may cover diverse topics in pharmacology, psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience on cellular, genetic, pharmacological, and neural circuit mechanisms of behaviour in both animal models and human subjects. We encourage you to submit your symposium proposals for the forthcoming Biennial EBPS Meeting and to contribute to its success. If you have any suggestions to stimulate scientific discussions, we welcome you to propose other formats as well. We will give priority to proposals with a diverse panel of speakers (e.g., in consideration of race, gender and geography). We will also give priority to proposals with speakers who did not present in the previous meeting and to proposals covering novel topics that were not represented in previous EBPS meetings.

Proposals should include a title, a short description of the topic and its significance, and proposed speakers, according to the guidelines below. We will announce the selected symposia in December 2020.

N.B. We wish to clarify that in the midst of the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and international travel, the 2021 Biennial Meeting in Maastricht will be held nonetheless: hopefully in person but otherwise either fully online or in a hybrid format. So please do not be deterred in submitting proposals for symposia — and stay tuned for info on abstract submissions.

Symposium Guidelines

The organiser should be a researcher who did not organize an accepted symposium at the previous Biennial EBPS Meeting. Symposia are 2 hours long and are composed of 4 speakers, one of which can be the organizer. The proposed symposia should include an informative outline of the symposium that introduces the topic and explains why it is interesting and timely for the EBPS. The outline should also include a short description of the topics of the different speakers and indicate how the presentations are linked to each other. Please use the following format when submitting the proposed symposia:

  • Title
  • Symposium outline (must not exceed 1500 characters, spaces included; this is roughly equivalent to 250 words)
  • Speaker 1: Name, affiliation, and lecture title
Speaker 2: Name, affiliation, and lecture title
Speaker 3: Name, affiliation, and lecture title
Speaker 4: Name, affiliation, and lecture title

The deadline for proposals submission is 16 October 2020.
